Today’s club match was fished below Fitzwilliam bridge on the grass.
The 12 who fished were unsure what to expect after the previous evening’s biblical rain storm. Happily the river looked good and drew off nicely all day with some colour also.

Bream decided the match as expected with the colour and winner this week Matt Page managed 4 bream on the pole plus some smaller fish, catching on worm and maggot over heavy groundbait. Runner up on the day was Peterborough stalwart Mel Saggers fishing the feeder, who but for a couple of lost fish would have stolen the honours.
Completing the frame was North bank supremo Clive Turner who started off like a train but his swim died after an hour.
Well done all those who fished.

It was agreed to return to the same area for next Saturdays club match.
