With a rise in temperatures and a good colour in the Town Welland hopes were high for a Christmas cracker of a match, and although all did catch a few we were perhaps a day or two early for a fish bonanza.
Leading the way was Alistair Ogilvie with a great catch from the last peg on the grass bank opposite the Poacher.
Alistair caught on both bread and groundbait lines alternating swims to keep fish coming until the end.
Jonathan Means came second from the opposite bank catching well early on bread but a slow second half of the match cost him the win.
Completing the frame was Dan Lewandowski fishing his first match from the first peg opposite the Poacher catching on big bronze maggot.
P&DAA gave hampers to the top 3 and port/chocolates for first and second in each section.
We also donated 2 £50 vouchers for GRANZ Angling Fishing Tackle for a lucky peg draw and guess the winning weight, Phil Chesterton was closest to guessing the top weight and Gregorz Marzec won the lucky peg.
So for thats it for the first match run by P&DAA on the Town Welland Watch this space for more open matches and hope see you all soon
Many thanks to Tesco for helping with the prizes and Cameron and team at The Lincolnshire Poacher for venue, breakfast and drinks
Congratulations to the winners and well done to all who fished
