Hydroscape
HydroscapeRecord. Monitor. Protect.

A free biodiversity and water quality reporting platform for anglers and fishery managers. Anyone at the water can record what they see in 30 seconds, with GPS, timestamps and AI photo verification against a database of over 1,000 UK freshwater species. The evidence supports cormorant licencing, conservation and fishery management, and Hydroscape is in regular conversation with the Environment Agency, Natural England and Natural Resources Wales.

Coaching for newcomers of every age with qualified coaches, all tackle and bait provided. Free and paid sessions run through the season alongside annual membership options, giving complete beginners and returning anglers a proper start in the sport. School Of Fish also delivers coaching qualifications, training the next generation of angling coaches, the route P&DAA's own coaches come through. Started by P&DAA and now run as its own venture.

Corporate volunteering

Bring your team to the river

Himalayan balsam grows head-high along the Nene, shades out everything native beneath it, then dies back in the autumn and leaves the bank bare for the winter floods. Pulling it is a day's work for a team and a season's work for a handful of volunteers.

What a day looks like

Balsam pulling through the summer, bank and swim clearance from autumn, path and platform work in winter. Physical, outdoors, and finished by the time you would normally be thinking about the drive home.

What we bring

Tools, gloves, a safety briefing and someone who knows the water supervising throughout. Your team needs boots, old clothes and a packed lunch.

What it costs

Nothing. We are a volunteer-run association and the help is the point. You get a day that is genuinely useful rather than a made-up task, and a stretch of river that is measurably better for it.

It suits team building, corporate social responsibility and give-back days, and it works because the job is real. We can take groups of most sizes across around twelve miles of the Nene, several miles of the Welland and the lakes at Ferry Meadows.
