Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and how we look after it.
1. Who we are
Peterborough & District Angling Association is a members' angling club. For data protection purposes the club is the controller of the personal information described here. Contact: support@fishinginpeterborough.co.uk.
2. What we collect and why
- Membership records. Name, contact details, date of birth for junior and concession eligibility, and membership history. We use these to run the club: issuing membership, communicating with you, and managing our waters. Lawful basis: performance of the membership contract.
- Ticket and syndicate purchases. Processed through our online ticket shop and the club app. Payment card details are handled by the payment provider, not by the club.
- Website enquiries. The contact form collects your name, email and message so we can reply. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in answering you.
- Newsletter. If you sign up to our newsletter we hold your email address and first name, on the basis of your consent, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect straight away.
- Volunteer expenses. Where a volunteer claims agreed expenses we hold the bank details needed to repay them, stored encrypted and used for nothing else.
- Safeguarding and incident records. Kept where we have a legal or welfare duty. Lawful basis: legal obligation and vital interests.
3. Who we share it with
We use established service providers to run membership, ticketing, the club app, email and this website. They process data on our instructions and can't use it for their own purposes. We don't sell member data, and we don't share it with anyone else except where the law requires, for example with the Environment Agency or police in an enforcement matter.
4. How long we keep it
Membership records are kept while you're a member and for a reasonable period afterwards so lapsed members can rejoin easily. Safeguarding records are kept in line with statutory guidance. Enquiries are deleted once resolved.
5. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we no longer need it, object to processing based on our legitimate interests, or ask us to restrict what we do with it while a query is resolved. Email support@fishinginpeterborough.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you have the right to complain to us directly: email the address above, we'll acknowledge within 30 days and look into it properly. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk at any time.
6. Cookies
This website doesn't set advertising or tracking cookies. Live information on the site (weather, river levels, the events calendar, the venue map) is fetched from public services when the page loads.
